Matteo is a repentant banker, who found in the Algarve the pleasure of living in contact with nature and of leading culinary tours by bicycle (electric so as not to get too tired) through the breathtaking landscapes of inland Algarve.
Jose' is a professional nurseryman of roses and ornamental plants and a real wild-life enthusiast. His unique ability to lighting a fire with any tool and cooking outdoor, made him famous in the community. He detests any food waste and every fruit picked from his trees is transformed into a delicious jam or chutney.
David is a young food engineer and the first vinegar producer in the Algarve with a passion for sea catch. He loves holding cooking workshops to show the versatility of vinegar in cooking in his many recipes from cocktails to tuna steak.
Jorge will guide you through the fascinating world of liqueurs and distillation, which holds no secrets for him, as he has memory of distilling in his family house since he was born. Jorge is a gourmet and loves family meals cooked by his wife Esmeralda.
João is a very eclectic man with a lot of passions. He's committed to growing organic citrus fruits on the land of his grandmother Gloria, avoiding any waste and pesticides. He spent most of his life playing guitar with his band around the world.
After checking and setting in your accommodation, a welcome dinner will take you to a world of new flavours and refined combinations of vinegars, sauces and delicious finger food.
João will introduce you to the fascinating world of citrus farming and will open his door to share a day full of picking, cooking and chatting around the fire of his 100 years old family house.
After a morning spent visiting Silves food market and its cobble streets, we will dive into a hands-on workshop in a real bakery, learning how to cook the most traditional pastries of a typical Algarvian Carnival

Just attended a winter retreat in the Algarve region of Portugal with hosts Gloria and Matteo! It was an amazing time with beautiful scenery and walks, fabulous food and wine and great new friendships! Gloria and Matteo were delightful hosts with so much attention to detail. They introduced us to the wonders of real life Portugal with many artisanal producers. The accommodations especially their own Gato Preto were first rate. I highly recommend their tours - 5 stars!

Our tour was a moderate activity tour, that included lovely drives and walks, time in towns, farms, wineries, the sea, artist retreats and collectives with intimate experiences you won’t find on a mainstream tour. It wasn’t just amazing food (I had vegetarian sometimes as well as trying fish and meat, veggies, fruits) made by people whose standards are very high and who are passionate about their farming, fishing, cooking, the environment, community and compassionate relationships with each other. The lodgings were all modern and traditional and beautiful (Gloria and Matteo‘s place Quinta Gato Preto Near Silves is so serene and beautiful).

Price of 100 euros is the total value for a two ways transfer no matters if you are 1 person or more.
The hosting B&B is located in the heart of Silves Countryside, right in the center of the Algarve, 15 minutes driving from the famous Seven Hanging Valleys.
It is possible to book the transfer from/to the Airport as an extra from the reservation page. Pricing is 100 euros two ways (pick-up and drop off the day of check-out). If possible (depending on flights time) we will try to arrange a group transfer with other guests of the same retreat in order to share this value among participants.
Of course it is. If you like to arrive 1 or 2 days before or leave 1 or 2 days after, you can simply add this extra nights during the reservation process on our platform.
Of course! Solo travellers can choose to book a shared options in one of our cabin or a private accommodation in the annex. We usually have many solo travellers on our retreats!
Families with children over 14 years old are welcome. There is one garden cabin ideal for a family that can host up to 4 people, 2 adults and 2 children.
Of course we can! Vegetarian or Vegan options are available to book for an extra-cost during the reservation process on this platform.
