The characteristic of this pan allow a wide range of dishes to be created that are a delight for all the senses and are good for one’s heart, as the cataplana enables little fat to be used in recipes.
Throughout this experience, partecipants will have the opportunity to discover all the potential of the most iconic utensil in Algarve gastronomy and will learn to make a Cataplana with fish and shellfish.

Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected food-tasting locations.
Tours are held rain or shine. That’s how much we love the food! We ask you to check the weather before hand and dress appropriately. And don’t worry, tasting will occur indoors if needed as things don’t taste as good soggy.

Margarite and Miquel were our hosts for an amazing day at the Mercado de Faro followed by a cooking class on cataplana Algarvia. They were informative, friendly and offered a historical tutorial on cataplana cooking. The food was absolutely delicious. The meal was plenty and complete.
