Transportation to Monchique is not included. It is available on request for an extra 10 euros p.p.
Your tour guide will greet you at Monchique Petrol Station.
The meeting time is 10:00 in the morning.
By car we reach the black pigs factory in the hills surrounding Monchique, where we start the tour with a rewarding walk up to a wonderful panoramic point.
On the way back we stop at one of the few remaining factory in Portugal growing and feeding pigs in a sustainable way.
By car, we go back to the old town center, where we are going to have lunch in a typical “Tasca” of Monchique, where meet dishes are cooked with special care and wisdom.
After lunch we visit a Medronho liquor shops, where local producers will explain step by step how this incredible liquor is made and where you will taste several varietes of spirits.

Look at black pigs of different ages rolling in the mud, chasing each other in the grass, and playing with hay in the adjacent stables

Savour the authentic ham and chouriço in a local taberna, paired with a glass of wine
Visit the old town center
Walk the cobble streets of Monchique and taste delicious firewater produced form locally sourced medronho and honey.
We meet at 9:30 in the morning in Monchique at the Petrol Station just after the welcome sign.
If you need a pick-up and drop off at your B&B or hotel, please send us an email before reservation or call our help desk. Private transportation is subjet to availability.

The Lunch at the Vineyard experience and Sunset Picnic in Tavira are adults only.
Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected food-tasting locations.
Please be sure and let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know in advance, we can accommodate your needs.
On the Orange Farm and Silves Food Tour we can accommodate vegetarians, gluten or dairy intolerances, but not vegans.
On the Moncqhique Hills & Flavor, Portimao Evening Food&Wine Stroll and Sunset Picnic in Tavira, we are unable to accommodate vegetarians, vegans, gluten or dairy intolerance.
Yes! Our tour is in English, but we can do Portuguese, German, Italian or French for private groups of at least 4 people.
Most of the tours are held rain or shine. That’s how much we love the food! We ask you to check the weather before hand and dress appropriately. And don’t worry, tasting will occur indoors if needed as things don’t taste as good soggy.
The only experience that could be rescheduled in case of severe bad weather conditions are the E-Bikes Tour of Rural Algarve and the Sunset Picnic in Tavira.
